Housewares - Charley Harper-inspired serving platter at IKEA

I'm sort of easing back into blogging here after I nearly gave it up completely. But last night in my Dreamweaver class, we spent the whole time learning about social media. As a designer, it's important for me to do this stuff. Anyway. Here's what I got right now.

You wouldn't have known, but in the last couple months I've been absolutely obsessed with COLOR and everything 60's-related. Especially illustration. Ever since I conceded that I can't use stock images for portfolio pieces, I've been much more illustration-based. It's great, and I've discovered Charley Harper, who (was) a fantastic illustrator of wildlife, more specifically, birds. This serving tray from IKEA totally emulates his style completely. I'm sure I'll have to get it.

Wishlist- Tiny Mid-Century Modern Chairs

Look at these gorgeous little goodies! I have mentioned before that I have a great love of chairs, and today on Mod Cloth I have found these. Scaled down versions of iconic chairs from probably the best and coolest era for design. I would, of course, love to have all of them.

The only downside is that you can't choose which chair you buy--each one is supposed to be a surprise, which I think is silly if you want to collect them all. And this is true for any place you want to buy them from (unless you intend to buy the set of 9)

There are 5, count 'em FIVE volumes of this dynamic collection. So be sure to snatch them up now before they're obsolete.

Wishlist- TOBIAS chair from IKEA

Oh my god, wow. I'm going to need to start blogging more about architecture because more and more these days I'm being drawn towards amazing and glorious chairs.

I was at IKEA and spotted this and ran right towards it--to see that it is $99. At IKEA of all places... Anyway. It's a modernist dream. Very minimal. And beautiful. I just... I must have it, there's no question.

I was just thinking this evening how I wanted some new tea towels. And then I go on a browsing frenzy with KCG and this is what happens. They have other nice tea towels, but this one is simplicity at its most divine.

Saving for later

I read a lot of lifestyle blogs, moreso than pure design blogs. I like seeing how stylish people live (except it makes me sick with longing) and usually dream of the day when I get a place all to myself to decorate. This space really stuck out, because it's all very clean and minimalist and all the white stuff gives it a european feel. Anyway, This may be the first and only time I feature a home tour but it's nice to dream of a day I can have complete control over the aesthetic value of my apartment(/house).

This is a most amazing bag from Canada. The french literally means "This bag is green." It's only available IN store IN Canada... I would seriously go all the way there just to get this bag for $.89. I mapped it out any everything. I feel like my life could not be complete until I have that bag.
