Regenerate

This poster is beautiful but I wish it didn't take so long to figure out what it said.

HORT
(Sorry for the blogging hiatus. No internet+lack of motivation.)

Hello Couture

via WANKEN: "Stumbled upon this elegant project by Ryan Atkinson on Behance. The project was a mini poster series that brought design, typography and a bit of fashion together as a collaboration."

I'm dying from the sexiness.

More on Behance. (It's so worth it)

10 Movie Posters Inspired by Mens Style

Here's a nifty little set of posters. I love the minimalism and the clever illustrations of the iconic clothing items from certain movies.

{More minimalist posters based off iconic imagery here, and here.}

Earth Science Postage Series

n 1973 Canada Post celebrated the meeting of the main organizations concerned with the exploration of the earth (The International Geological Congress, the International Geographical Congress, the Congress of the International Society of Photogrammetry, and the International Conference of the International Cartographic Association). This cool modern postage series marks this incredible event and represents the various disciplines in a graphic and descriptive manner that would make Edward Tufte proud.

Scandinavian Logos

I agree with Nubby Twiglet, these logos from the 60s an 70s are totally swoon-worthy.

Stylish Forecast

I love this minimal and elegant way of reporting the weather. I especially love the image they use for a rainy day. As they don't have Minneapolis available (yet), I have London bookmarked... I'm just all too wistful for the city.

Interpol poster

This is a truly stunning poster by the firm Factor 27. I found it in a book of Rock posters my Roommate owns. It's just so... I don't know. Adjectives escape me right now. It's a transcendent design is what it is. I love it.

Factor 27. (The only site I could find representative of their work)

The Swiss Style

I love the Swiss Style. I related with it before I knew what it was. Due to a happy accident I was assigned to do a presentation for a chapter in my History of Graphic Design book (for my class with the same name) and the chapter was simple "The International Typographic System", otherwise known as the Swiss Style).

Anyway, I got a heads up from swissmiss on my twitter this morning. There's a great article over at Smashing Magazine all about this modern, minimalist graphic design style. Please do check it out.

Wishlist- TOBIAS chair from IKEA

Oh my god, wow. I'm going to need to start blogging more about architecture because more and more these days I'm being drawn towards amazing and glorious chairs.

I was at IKEA and spotted this and ran right towards it--to see that it is $99. At IKEA of all places... Anyway. It's a modernist dream. Very minimal. And beautiful. I just... I must have it, there's no question.

Gorgeous type

This is a bit Bauhaus-feeling. I thought at first it was from the 60's. It's so beautiful.

FELIX MÜTHE (I encourage you to check out the website. There's not that much work, but it's all quite stunning)

Wallpaper* City Guides

I was at Barnes & Noble the other day with my sister, who's traveling to Europe next week. We were looking in the international guidebook sections and kept finding these little Wallpaper* City Guides wedged between books. They're so small and cute! We kept looking around for other ones and it was fun to find them in different colors. They're so wonderfully minimalist and convenient. You can get them for $10 each. Next time I travel I have to get me one of these.
